TWO GUN OPERATOR

The purpose of this course is to develop the necessary skills to effectively deploy and transition from your rifle to your handgun in a tactical environment. Whether you fired the last round, or you experience a malfunction, a quick transition may be the difference between life and death. This course is a necessity for those of you on the streets in Law Enforcement, a practicing 3 Gun competitor or those wanting to learn to better protect their family. Not only will you learn how to transition from your rifle to handgun, you will also learn the physiological and psychological aspects of an armed conflict. Upon completion of this course the student will be able to quickly and effectively transition to sidearm, accurately engage multiple targets from multiple positions, effectively utilize cover/concealment, be exposed to long range and close quarter shooting techniques, one handed shooting and applying these skills in a pressured environment.



Subjects covered in this class include:

 

  • Quick Review of the fundamentals of marksmanship
  • Transition from rifle to handgun/handgun to rifle
  • Speed load/Tactical load
  • Alternate and unconventional shooting positions
  • Engaging moving targets
  • Firing under stress
  • Threat assessment and avoidance
  • Situational awareness and the combat mindset
  • Physiological and psychological aspects of an armed conflict
  • Required gear:

    • Serviceable Rifle (AR 15 or AK47 preferred)
    • 4-6 magazines minimum
    • 250 rounds of ammunition
    • Functional sling
    • Serviceable Handgun (Semi auto and or revolver)
    • 2-3 magazines
    • 150 rounds of ammunition
    • A proper holster (no cross draw or shoulder holsters without prior approval)
    • Weather appropriate clothing

    Optional Gear:

    • Magazine pouches
    • Knee / elbow pads
    • Water bottle, bladder or other
    • Additional ammunition and or magazines
